Having never been and mark finding an excellent deal for a day trip to Amsterdam on P&O, myself and Mark went and stayed over on a ferry trip to Amsterdam.
A little cold I have to say been January, but a fascinating city that even in a day I think we missed quite a lot, but got to see a few features. Saw the canal ways through the city, the houses which are all so tall, the skinny bridge where they filmed James Bond and also Dam Square amongst a few others.
We only had a day visit so did not see lots, but enough. Was very surprised how flat the land really is, reminds me of Norfolk, but very different landscape. Road networks that flow very well too. We also made friends with a nice couple on the ferry who live in Cleethorpes.
All in all a very nice trip indeed. Saying that Gran Canaria coming soon, yip yip.
