Jodrell Bank - Friday 8th June 2007

Good morning.

Friday was a bit of an overcast day, but it was a trip out to Jodrell Bank for use and an interesting trip and yes we took our cameras so photos of our visit are available on a link at the bottom of this section.

For myself it was interesting as I have been writing up a pilot episode for UNIT with the intention that the Dalek's wish to use Jodrell Bank in their plan so a visit to the site was quite useful allowing me to have a good nosy round and get to see the dish and how the land worked in order to get a feel to aid in the stories creation. It was also the first time I have visited the site so quite interesting. We managed to also see a 3-D visual display about the sun and the planets which was slightly out of date since the film was made in 2001 and according to the guy who was showing the 3-D documentary Pluto is no longer classed as a planet. It also informed use about the stars and our own star's future.

We also had a wonder round the grounds which has a range of different tree species from around the world. The photos certainly give you an idea of what we saw and Jodrell Bank is certainly well worth a visit.
